Electrical Appliance Testing Equipment: Guardians of quality, from safety to smart technology

When we press the start button on a coffee machine, adjust the temperature on an air conditioner, or control our home appliances with a smart speaker, we rarely consider the countless laboratory tests that underpin these convenient experiences. Home appliance testing equipment, acting as the "invisible guardian" of quality control, uses scientific data to rigorously evaluate every aspect of a device—from safety and performance to smart features—ensuring reliable performance. From basic leakage detection to complex IoT performance verification, the technological advancements in these devices always keep pace with the development of the home appliance industry.

1. Safety Testing Equipment: Ensuring Electrical Safety Standards

Safety is the lifeblood of electrical appliances, and electrical safety testing equipment is the first line of defense in protecting that safety. A ground resistance tester accurately measures the resistance between the appliance's metal casing and the ground terminal (required to be ≤4Ω) by applying a 10A current, ensuring that any leakage current can quickly flow to ground, preventing electric shock.  A high-voltage test device simulates extreme voltage conditions, applying a 2000V high voltage across the live parts and the casing for one minute. If a breakdown occurs or the leakage current exceeds the standard (typically ≤5mA), it indicates a potential safety hazard.


2. Performance Testing Equipment: Defining Quantitative Standards for "User-Friendliness"

The user experience of home appliances needs to be precisely defined using data. The refrigerator temperature control performance test system uses 20 thermocouples distributed throughout the interior to continuously record temperature fluctuations for 72 hours under various ambient temperatures (-10°C to 40°C).  The requirement is that the temperature fluctuation in the refrigerator compartment be ≤±1°C, and in the freezer compartment ≤±2°C.  The washing machine cleaning performance test uses standardized soiled fabric (with stains like grease and soot) to test cleaning efficiency; a cleaning efficiency of ≥1.03 is required to pass.  Additionally, a fabric abrasion tester ensures that the fabric fiber loss rate is ≤1%.


3. Life and Reliability Testing Equipment: The Time-Saving Magic of Verifying Durability

Whether a home appliance will last 5 years or 10 years can be determined in advance using life-testing equipment. Accelerated life testing simulates years of wear and tear in the laboratory: for example, a washing machine drum needs to complete 10,000 rotation tests to simulate 10 years of use; the heating element of an electric water heater must undergo 10,000 cycles of heating to 95°C and cooling to 20°C, with the wall thickness of the heating element not exceeding 10% less than its initial thickness.
